57 KG

#3 Zelimkhan Abakarov (ALB) and #5 Akhmed Idrisov (RUS) moved up to 61 kilograms where they are ranked third and fourth respectively. Sung Gwon Kim (KOR) won the Grand Prix of Spain over Cho Hyeonso (KOR) with Zangar Kabylbekov (KAZ) and Thomas Epp (SUI) taking bronze. Wanhao Zou (CHN) won the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over #20 Almaz Smanbekov (KGZ). Bronze medalists at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament were Kamyl Kerymov (UKR) and #6 Zane Richards (USA). #20 Almaz Smanbekov (KGZ) moves up fifteen spots in the rankings to #15 for beating #6 Zane Richards (USA) in the semifinals of the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. Wanhao Zou (CHN) makes a huge return to the rankings at #4 for beating #5 Almaz Smanbekov 11-3 in the finals of the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. Kamyl Kerymov (UKR) returns to the rankings at #16 for beating #17 Ahmad Javan (IRI) for bronze at the Budapest Ranking Series. 

There was a pair of notable removals from the rankings that allowed for the influx of a crop of newly ranked wrestlers. These removals were in the form of 2020 Olympian #11 Gulomjon Abdullaev (UZB) due to inactivity and #10 Reineri Andreu Ortega (CUB) for defecting from Cuba. Roberti Dingashvili (GEO) returns to the rankings at #18 for his win over Bishkek Ranking Series Tournament runner-up Bekzat Almaz Uulu (KGZ) in the round of 16 of the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. Milad Valizadeh (IRI) is in the rankings at #19 for beating 2021 Senior World bronze medalist Horst Lehr (GER) in the round of 16 at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. Bekzat Almaz Uulu (KGZ) is the final new entry in the rankings at #20 for his gold medal at the U23 Asian Championships, silver medal at the Bishkek Ranking Series Tournament, and bronze medal at the Ibrahim Moustafa Ranking Series Tournament this year. 

#1 Zavur Uguev (RUS) won his match at PWL-5 against #12 Arsen Harutyunyan (ARM) 6-4. Russian Nationals runner-up #3 Artem Gobaev (RUS) won the Commonwealth Cup over #9 Ramiz Gamzatov (RUS). Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were #14 Ramazan Abdurakhimov (RUS) and #10 Aryan Tyutrin (BLR). Notable results from the Commonwealth Cup outside of the finals were #3 Artem Gobaev beating #14 Ramazan Abdurakhimov (RUS) and #9 Ramiz Gamzatov (RUS) beating #10 Aryan Tyutrin (BLR). Cooper Flynn (USA) won the Ziolkowski Open over Darian Cruz (PUR) with Ivaylo Tisov (BUL) and Vasyl Ilnytski (UKR) taking bronze. #15 Aliabbaz Rzazade (AZE) competed up at 61 KG for the Ziolkowski and took bronze, notching a win over #13 (61) Nahshon Garrett (USA) and losing to eventual runner-up #12 (61) Austin DeSanto (USA). 

61 KG

#3 (57) Zelimkhan Abakarov (RUS) and #5 (57) both returned to 61 KG where they captured tournament titles this month. Abakarov returns to the 61 kilogram rankings at #3 for taking gold at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over Ossimzhan Dastanbek (KAZ) and notched victories over #10 Vito Arujau (USA) and 2022 Senior World bronze medalist #19 Narankhuu Narmandakh (MGL). Bronze medalists at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament were #10 Vito Arujau (USA) and Assylzhan Yessengeldi (KAZ). Akhmed Idrisov (RUS) returns to the 61 KG rankings at #4 off taking gold at the Commonwealth Cup over #8 Bashir Magomedov (RUS). Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were Andrey Bekrenev (BLR) and Chermen Tavitov (RUS). 

#11 Daton Fix (USA) won the Ziolkowski Open over #12 Austin DeSanto (USA) with #13 Nahshon Garrett (USA) and #15 (57) Aliabbas Rzazade (AZE) taking bronze. With Fix and DeSanto both taking losses to Garrett in the U.S. World Team Trials tournament, there is a question as to how they made the finals without facing Garrett. The answer for this is Garrett lost to #15 (57) Aliabbas Rzazade (AZE) and DeSanto beat Rzazade in the semifinals and all the Americans qualified for medal matches based off the nordic style bracket they were in.

#1 Abasgadzhi Magomedov (RUS) won 12-2 in his match against #16 Emrah Ormanoglu (TUR) at PWL-5. 2022 57 KG Senior World bronze medalist Stevan Micic (SRB) took gold at the Grand Prix of Spain over Talap Zholdassov (KAZ). Bronze medalists at the Grand Prix of Spain were Nils Leuteurt (SUI) and Ramzan Awtaew (GER). 

65 KG

Andrew Alirez (USA) made the biggest impact on the rankings this month, returning to them at #10 for his upset victory over three-time world champion #7 Haji Aliyev (AZE) at the Ziolkowski Open. Alirez would go on to take gold over Mikyay Naim (BUL) while #7 Haji Aliyev (AZE) and Krzystof Bienkowski (POL) took bronze. Aliyev dropped four spots in the rankings to #11 for his loss to Alirez. #13 Bajrang Punia (IND) has been removed from the rankings due to inactivity, having not competed since the 2022 Senior World Championships in September. 

#1 Rahman Amouzad (IRI) took gold at the Commonwealth Cup by way of a 4-4 criteria decision over #15 Gadzhimurad Omarov (RUS). Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were Artur Badtiev (RUS) and #11 Abdulmazhid Kudiev (TJK). #15 Gadzhimurad Omarov (RUS) moves up six spots to #9 for beating #11 Abdulmazhid Kudiev (RUS) and #19 Aripgadzhi Abdulaev (RUS) to make the finals. #5 Ibragim Ibragimov (RUS) won his match against Vazgen Tevanyan (ARM) 3-0 at PWL-5. #18 Dzhambulat Kizinov (RUS) won his match over two-time Junior World silver medalist Ziraddin Bayramov (AZE) 6-0 at PWL-5. 

#4 Tulga Tumur Ochir (MGL) took gold at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament with a 10-0 tech fall over #7 Nick Lee (USA). Bronze medalists at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament were Ikrhomzhon Khadzhimurodov (KGZ) and Islam Dudaev (ALB). Ikrhomzhon Khadzhimurodov (KGZ) enters the rankings at #14 for beating #10 Ismail Musukaev (HUN) in the repechage bracket after losing to #4 Tulga Tumur Ochir (MGL). #10 Ismail Musukaev (HUN) drops five spots to #15 for his loss to #14 Ikrhomzhon Khadzhimurodov (KGZ). A notable result took place in the round of 16 between a pair of UNC-Chapel Hill All-Americans in the form of Lachlan McNeil (CAN) and Kizhan Clarke (GER) where McNeil walked away the 5-3 victor. McNeil was fourth place at 141 pounds this year while Clarke was the national runner-up at 141 pounds in 2022. Lachlan McNeil (CAN) won the Grand Prix of Spain over Ayub Musaev (BEL) with Bekzat Yermekbay (KAZ) and Carlos Alvarez (ESP) taking bronze. 

70 KG

#1 Taishi Narikuni (JPN) has been removed from the rankings due to not competing since the 2022 Senior World Championships in September. #4 Magomedrasul Gazimagomedov (RUS) has been removed from the rankings due to inactivity. Kuanysh Duisenkul (KAZ) won the Grand Prix of Spain over Kurmanbek Kaipanov (KAZ). Bronze medalists at the Grand Prix of Spain over Marc Dietsche (SUI) and Rodion Anchugin (KAZ). Doug Zapf (USA) won the Ziolkowski Open over Magomed Bashir Khaniev (AZE) with Daniel Antal (HUN) and Marc Dietsche (SUI). 

Ihor Nykyforuk (UKR) beat Joey McKenna (USA) to win the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. Bronze medalists at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament were Amr Hussen (EGY) over #11 Ernazar Akmataliev (KGZ) and Sanzhar Doszhanov (KAZ) over Amir Mohammad Yazdani (IRI). The Budapest Ranking Series saw a huge amount of change in the 70 KG weight class in the top ten with four newly ranked athletes in the form of Ihor Nykyforuk (UKR), Joey McKenna (USA), Sanzhar Dozhanov (KAZ), and Amir Mohammad Yazdani (IRI). Joey McKenna (USA) is the one to start the chain with victories over Sanzhar Dozhanov (KAZ), #10 Syrbaz Talgat (KAZ), and Amir Mohammad Yazdani (IRI) to make the finals. In the repechage, Dozhanov beats Talgat and on the championship side Yazdani beat #9 Orozobek Toktomambetov (KGZ) in the quarterfinals. In the bronze medal match, Dozhanov takes bronze over Yazdani. So from this McKenna enters the rankings at #8 for beating #10 Syrbaz Talgat (KAZ), and Sanzha Dozhanov (KAZ) enters at #9 for beating #10 Syrbaz Talgat (KAZ) in repechage and following it with a win over Amir Mohammad Yazdani (IRI) for bronze after Yazdani had notched a win over #9 Orozobek Toktomambetov (KGZ), so Yazdani slots in at #10 for his win over #9 Orozobek Toktomambetov (KGZ). Ihor Nykyforuk (UKR) enters the rankings at #7 for beating #8 Joey McKenna (USA), #11 Ernazar Akmataliev (KGZ), and Amr Hussen (EGY). Amr Hussen (EGY) enters the rankings at #13 for beating #11 Ernazar Akmataliev (KGZ) for bronze. #11 Ernazar Akmataliev (KGZ) drops three spots down to #14 for his loss to #13 Amr Hussen (EGY). 

#6 Kurban Shiraev (RUS) won the Commonwealth Cup over #7 Konstantin Kaprynov (RUS). Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were #15 Zagir Shakhiev (RUS) and #5 Aznaur Tavaev (RUS). #7 Konstantin Kaprynov (RUS) moves up three spots to #4 for beating #5 Aznaur Tavaev (RUS) in the semifinals of the Commonwealth Cup. #6 Kurban Shiraev (RUS) moves up three spots to #3 for beating #4 Konstantin Kaprynov (RUS) in the finals of the Commonwealth Cup.

#10 Timur Bizhoev (RUS) made the biggest statement of the weight with a victory over #1 Zaurbek Sidakov (RUS) in the finals of the Commonwealth Cup. Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were #13 Anzor Zakuev (RUS) and Akhmed Nurakhmaev (RUS). #10 Timur Bizhoev (RUS) moves up six spots to #4 for beating #1 Zaurbek Sidakov (RUS) while Sidakov drops one spot to #2 for his loss. #7 Cherman Valiev (RUS) moves up four spots to #3 for his victory over #4 Timur Bizhoev (RUS) in the finals of Russian Nationals in June. #3 Kyle Dake (USA) moves up two spaces to #1 with Sidakov’s loss. Akhmed Nurakhmaev (RUS) debuts in the rankings at #18 for beating #19 Magomed Dibirgadzhiev (RUS) at the Commonwealth Cup. 

Murad Kuramagomedov (HUN) won the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over Nurkhoza Kaipanov (KAZ) with Krisztian Biro (ROU) and Feng Lu (CHN). Murad Kuramagomedov (HUN) returns to the rankings at #20 for his wins over 2019 70 KG Senior World runner-up Nurkhoza Kaipanov (KAZ), U23 Asian Champion Feng Lu (CHN) and 2021 European bronze medalist Mitch Finesilver (ISR). #10 David Baev (RUS) won his match at PWL-5 against #20 Murad Kuramagomedov (HUN) 6-0. 

Alibek Abdikassymov (KAZ) beat Kanat Mussabekov (KAZ) in the finals of the Grand Prix of Spain. Bronze medalists at the Grand Prix of Spain were Kamil Rybicki (POL) and Zhengis Kanybekov (KAZ). #11 Turan Bayramov (AZE) won the Ziolkowski Open over Dzhabrail Gadzhiev (AZE) with Khadzhimurad Gadzhiev (AZE) and Ramazan Ramazanov (BUL) taking bronze.

Ahmed Magomedov (NMK) won the Grand Prix of Spain over Nurzhigit Mustafa (KAZ). Bronze medalists at the Grand Prix of Spain were Joona Vouti (FIN) and Tair Shamsat (KAZ). David McFadden (USA) won the Ziolkowski Open over Mihail Georgiev (BUL) with Krisztian Birzo (ROU) and Dustin Plott (USA) taking bronze. 

#5 Mohammad Nokhodilarimi (IRI) won the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over 2022 U23 World Champion #17 Vladimeri Gamkrelidze (GEO). Bronze medalists at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament were Daniyar Kaisanov (KAZ) over Nurdaulet Kuanyshbay (KAZ) and #2 Chance Marsteller (USA) over #14 (74) Avtandil Kentchadze (GEO). #5 Mohammd Nokhodilarimi (IRI) made the biggest statement of the month with three ranked wins over the likes of #2 Chance Marsteller (USA), #14 Avtandil Kentchadze (GEO), and #17 Vladimeri Gamkrelidze (GEO) to move up four spots to #1 in the rankings. #14 (74) Avtandil Kentchadze (GEO) returns to the rankings at #4 for beating Ali Savadkouhi (IRI) in the quarterfinals of the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. #3 Ali Savadkouhi (IRI) drops two spots to #5 for his quarterfinal loss to #4 Avtandil Kentchadze (GEO). 

#2 Akhmed Usmanov (RUS) beat Akhmed Magomedov (NMK) 6-0 at PWL-5. #7 Gadzhimurad Alikhmaev (RUS) won the Commonwealth Cup over #9 Khalid Yakhiev (RUS). Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were Orkhan Abasov (AZE) and #11 Kasum Kasumov (RUS). Notable results outside of the finals of the Commonwealth Cup included 2022 Russian Nationals runner-up #11 Magomed Magomaev (RUS) beating Russian Nationals bronze medalist #10 Akhmed Manilov (RUS in the round of 16 and Mohamad Nasirkhaev (RUS) beating #9 Abdulkerim Abdulaev (RUS) in the quarterfinals. Magomaev and Kasumov move up one spot to #11 and #10 respectively for their performances at the Commonwealth Cup, while Mohamad Nasirkhaev (RUS) debuts in the rankings at #12 for beating #9 Abdulkerim Abdulaev (RUS). #9 Abdulkerim Abdulaev (RUS) and #10 Akhmed Manilov (RUS) fall five spots and three spots in the rankings to #14 and #13 respectively.

#15 Myles Amine (SMR) registered the biggest win of his career when he beat two-time European champion #4 Dauren Kurugliev (GRE) to take gold at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. Taking bronze at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament were Osman Gocen (TUR) and Rakhim Magamadov (FRA). #15 Myles Amine moves up nine spots in the rankings to #6 for his win over #3 Dauren Kurugliev (GRE) while Kurugliev drops four spots to #7. Osman Gocen (TUR) returns to the rankings at #8 for beating #7 Abubakar Abakarov (AZE) in the quarterfinals of the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament.

#6 Artur Naifonov (RUS) moved up three spots in the rankings to #3 for winning the Commonwealth Cup over #4 Amanulla Gadzhimagomedov (RUS) to avenge his loss from June in the semifinals of the Russian National Championships. Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were Hadi Vafaipour (IRI) over #13 Malik Shavaev (RUS) and Zaur Makiev (RUS) over Akhmed Bagavudinov (RUS). Hadi Vafaipour (IRI), Zaur Makiev (RUS), Akhmed Bagavudinov (RUS), and Farid Jabbarov (AZE) enter the rankings based off their performances at the Commonwealth Cup with Vafaipour slotting in at #14 for his victory over #13 Malik Shavaev (RUS) in the bronze medal match. Zaur Makiev (RUS) returns to the rankings at #18 for beating #19 Akhmed Bagavudinov (RUS) after Bagavudinov had beaten #20 Farid Jabbarov (AZE) who got ranked for beating #17 Magomed Sharipov (BRN) in the round of 16. #1 Kamran Ghasempour (IRI) has confirmed his move up to 97 KG for the Senior World Championships and has been moved up to the number five spot in the world at 97 kilograms. #3 Vladislav Valiev (RUS) moves up two spots to take the number one spot at 92 kilograms. 2022 Dmitri Korkin Memorial Champion #8 Mohammad Azimi (IRI) is confirmed as Iran’s Junior world representative at 92 kilograms as the highest ranked of four athletes in the current senior level rankings along with #15 Mustafagadzhi Malachdibirov (AIN), #17 (57) Ahmad Javan (IRI), and #17 (65) Dalgat Abdulkadyrov (AIN). #9 Javad Ebrahimi (IRI) has been removed due to inactivity, as he has only competed at the Iranian Club Cup in February and other than that has been inactive since the 2021 Ali Aliyev where he took gold.

#12 (97) Amirali Azarpira (IRI) made a successful 92 KG debut with victories at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over #3 Zahid Valencia (USA) and 2022 Senior World bronze medalist Miriani Maisuradze (GEO) before injury forfeiting out of the tournament and taking fourth in the Nordic style bracket. Azarpira debuts in the 92 kilogram rankings at #2. Gadzhimagomed Nazhmudinov (RUS) won the Commonwealth Cup over #11 Alan Bagaev (RUS). Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were Amirhossein Firouzpour (IRI) over #12 Ashkab Saadulaev (RUS) and Omar Ziyautdinov (RUS) over #10 Tazhudin Mukhtarov. Gadzhimagomed Nazhmudinov (RUS) debuts in the rankings at #9 for wins over #10 Tazhudin Mukhtarov (RUS), #11 Alan Bagaev (RUS), and Omar Ziyautdinov (RUS). 2022 U23 World Champion Amirhossein Firouzpour (IRI) returns to the rankings at #11 for beating #12 Ashkab Saadulaev (RUS) for bronze at the Commonwealth Cup. Macchiavello falls one spot to #5 for his loss to Nurmagomedov. Nurmagomedov took gold at the Ziolkowski Open over Michal Bielwalski (POL) with Nick Stemmet (USA) and #5 Michael Macchiavello (USA) taking bronze.

#1 Abdulrashid Sadulaev (RUS) won the Commonwealth Cup by forfeit over #10 Akhmed Tazhudinov (BRN). Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were #18 Shamil Musaev (RUS) over #11 Sergey Kozyrev (RUS) and Alexander Hushtyn (BLR) over Gadzhimagomed Tazhudinov (RUS). #18 Shamil Musaev (RUS) moves up seven spots to #11 for beating #11 Sergey Kozyrev (RUS) for bronze at the Commonwealth Cup. #4 Magomed Kurbanov (RUS) beat #17 Magomedgadzhi Nurov (NMK) 2-1 in their match at PWL-5. #1 (92) Kamran Ghasempour (IRI) has confirmed his move up to 97 KG for the Senior World Championships and takes the #5 slot based off his multiple wins over former world champion #6 J’den Cox (USA).

#2 Kyle Snyder (USA) won the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over #8 Magomedkhan Magomedov (AZE) by forfeit. Bronze medalists at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament were #7 Givi Matcharashvili (GEO) and Alisher Yergali (KAZ). Jungwan Seo (KOR) enters the rankings at #17 for beating #17 Magomedgadzhi Nurov (MKD) at the Grand Prix of Spain where he took gold over Akezhan Aitbekov (KAZ). Bronze medalists at the Grand Prix of Spain were Nishan Randhawa (CAN) and Ertugrul Agca (GER). #19 Zbigniew Baranowski (POL) won the Ziolkowski Open over #20 Radoslaw Baran (POL). Bronze medalists at the Ziolkowski Open were Ahmed Bataev (BUL) and Erik Thiele (GER).

Anzor Khizriev (RUS) won the Commonwealth Cup by default over his brother #7 Zelimkhan Khizriev (RUS). Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were Khabib Davudgadzhiev (RUS) over Aiaal Lazarev (KGZ) and #14 Soslan Khinchagov (RUS) over Azamat Khosonov (GRE). Khabib Davudgadzhiev (RUS) debuts in the rankings at #11 for beating Russian Nationals runner-up #8 Erik Dzhioev (RUS) in the quarterfinals. Anzor Khizriev (RUS) returns to the rankings at #10 for beating #11 Khabib Davudgadzhiev (RUS) in the semifinals of the Commonwealth Cup. Azamat Khosonov (GRE) debuts in the rankings at #15 for beating #10 Dzianis Khramiankov (BLR) in the quarterfinals. Khramiankov drops six spots to #16 for his loss to Khosonov. 

 Mason Parris (USA) won the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over Daniel Ligeti (HUN). Bronze medalists at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament were Zhiwei Deng (CHN) and Yuri Idzinskyi (UKR). Mason Parris (USA) makes a substantial return to the rankings at #8 based off his victories over #9 Nick Gwiazdowski (USA) from the U.S. World Team Trials along with his wins over 2018 Senior World runner-u Zhiwei Deng (CHN), 2020 97 KG Olympic bronze medalist Abraham Conyedo (ITA) and Daniel Ligeti (HUN). Nick Gwiazdowski (USA) makes a strong return to the rankings at #9 for winning the Ziolkowski Open over European bronze medalist #17 Giorgi Meshvildishvili (AZE). Bronze medalists at the Ziolkowski Open were Kamil Kosciolek (POL) and Robert Baran (POL). Gwiazdowski going from unranked to #9 is justifiable due to his victories over #17 Giorgi Meshvildishvili (AZE), #10 Anzor Khizriev (RUS), #8 Mason Parris (USA) and #16 Dzianis Khramiankov (BLR). #13 Razambek Zhamalov has been removed from the rankings due to injuries that he suffered during his PWL-4 match against Ilyas Bekbulatov (UZB) that will keep him out of competition for the rest of the year. #25 Timur Bizhoev moves up seventeen spots to #8 in the rankings for his victory over #3 Zaurbek Sidakov in the finals of the 74 KG Commonwealth Cup. #23 Cherman Valiev moves up sixteen spots to #7 for his victory over #8 Timur Bizhoev from June in the Russian National finals. #3 Zaurbek Sidakov falls two spots to #5 for his loss to #8 Timur Bizhoev in the finals of the 74 KG Commonwealth Cup.
