61 KG Asian Championships silver medalist #15 (61) Aman Aman (IND) made his return to 57 kilograms, the weight he took bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics in a gold medal winning effort at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. Aman was dominant throughout his tournament run, posting an impressive 11-0 semifinal win over European Champion #8 Islam Bazarganov (AZE) and an 13-3 finals win over Roberti Dingashvili (GEO). Aman returns to the 57 KG rankings at #9 for his efforts in Budapest. Bronze medalists at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament were Meirambek Kartbay (KAZ) and Nurdanat Aitakov (KAZ).

Meirambek Kartbay (KAZ) returns to the rankings at #16 for his win in the bronze medal match over #8 (now #17) Islam Bazarganov (AZE). Rahul Rahul (IND) takes the #17 spot in the rankings for beating 2021 Senior World bronze medalist #13 (now #19) Aryan Tyutrin (BLR) in the qualification round of the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament; Rahul was eliminated by #16 Islam Bazarganov (AZE) in the quarterfinals.

Two-time Russian Nationals bronze medalist #14 Abubakar Mutaliev (RUS) put together an excellent run to win his first Russian Nationals title, capturing gold over returning national champion #10 Musa Mekhtikhanov (RUS). In total, Mutaliev notched three ranked wins on his way to gold, beating #7 Akhmed Idrisov (RUS), #10 Musa Mekhtikhanov (RUS), and 2025 Russian Nationals runner-up #19 Amir Chamzyn (RUS). Mutaliev moves up eight spots in the rankings to #6 for his success at Russian Nationals. Bronze medalists at Russian Nationals were Tundzhai Verdiev (RUS) and #20 Amir Chamzyn (RUS).

Tundzhai Verdiev (RUS), a two-time cadet world team member for Russia, had an excellent Senior level debut, upsetting 2024 Russian Nationals runner-up #12 Lev Pavlov (RUS) in the quarterfinals of Russian Nationals on his way to a bronze medal finish. For his efforts, Verdiev is able to debut in the rankings at #14 while Pavlov drops two spots to #15 for his loss to Verdiev along with the return of 2025 Senior World silver medalist #16 (61) Bekzat Almaz Uulu (KGZ) to the 57 KG rankings at #12 after winning the Yasar Dogu.

#16 (61) Bekzat Almaz Uulu (KGZ), the 2025 Senior World silver medalist to #11 Chongsong Han (PRK), made a successful return to 57 KG with a title at the Yasar Dogu over Ali Tarashani (IRI). Bronze medalists at the Yasar Dogu were Muhammet Karavus (TUR) and Asadbek Saituraev (UZB).

61 KG

#1 Zavur Uguev (RUS) beat #17 (57) Ramiz Gamzatov (RUS) to win his record breaking ninth Russian National title. Bronze medalists at the Russian National Championships were #8 Chermen Tavitov (RUS) and #14 Kezhik Mongush (RUS). #17 (57) Ramiz Gamzatov (RUS) beat #8 Chermen Tavitov (RUS) and #9 Muslim Mekhtikhanov (RUS) to make the finals of Russian Nationals and takes the #3 spot in the rankings for his wins; Tavitov beat Mekhtikhanov for bronze.

Assyl Aitakyn (KAZ) won the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over Tolga Ozbek (TUR) with Deepak Deepak (IND) and Adilet Almukhamedov (KAZ) taking bronze. Assyl Aitakyn (KAZ) takes the #16 spot in the rankings for winning the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over #18 Tolga Ozbek (TUR) along with beating Ulanbaatar Open champion Deepak Deepak (IND. Tolga Ozbek (TUR) is in at #18 for beating #19 Adilet Almukhamedov (KAZ) and #20 Giorgi Goniashvili (GEO) at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. #20 Giorgi Goniashvili (GEO) is in the rankings at #20 for upsetting #10 (now unranked, see ranking removal section of rankings) Zelimkhan Abakarov (ALB) by pin. Adilet Almukhamedov (KAZ) is in at #19 for beating #20 Giorgi Goniashvili (GEO) for bronze.

#2 Arsen Harutyunyan (ARM) beat #6 Ben Davino (USA) at RAF 11. #12 Gulomjon Abdullaev (UZB) won the Yasar Dogu over Allan Oralbek (KAZ) with Ebrahim Khari (IRI) and Emrah Ormanoglu (TUR) taking bronze. Ebrahim Khari (IRI) takes the #17 spot in the rankings for beating #18 Tolga Ozbek (TUR) for bronze.

#10 Abasgadzhi Magomedov (RUS) won Russian Nationals over #17 Eldar Akhmadudinov (RUS) with #4 Bashir Magomedov (RUS) and #16 Alik Khadartsev (RUS) taking bronze. #17 Eldar Akhmadudinov (RUS) moves up twelve spots in the rankings to #5 for upsetting #4 (now #6) Bashir Magomedov (RUS) in the semifinals of Russian Nationals. #10 Abasgadzhi Magomedov (RUS) moves up six spots to #4 for beating #5 Eldar Akhmadudinov (RUS) and #17 Alik Khadartsev (RUS) at Russian Nationals.

Vladimir Khinchegashvili (GEO) beat Conor Beebe (USA) at RAF Georgia. Brock Hardy (USA) beat Alibeg Alibegov (BRN) at RAF Georgia. Aznaur Tavaev (RUS) returns to the rankings at #3 after upsetting #3 (now #5) David Baev (RUS) in the quarterfinals of the Russian National Championships. 2025 Russian National silver medalist Konstantine Kaprynov (RUS) returns to the rankings at #4 for beating #5 David Baev (RUS) for bronze at Russian Nationals. Turpal Ali Khatuev (RUS) returns to the rankings at #20 for beating #14 (now unranked) Abdurakhman Dalgatov (RUS) at Russian Nationals.

#19 Ridge Lovett (USA) won the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over #17 Akaki Kemertelidze (GEO) with Ebrahim Elahi (IRI) and #4 (now #12) Tulga Tumur Ochir (MGL) taking bronze. #19 Ridge Lovett (USA) moves up nine spot in the rankings to #10 for his wins over #16 Kanan Heybatov (AZE), #14 Ebrahim Elahi (IRI), and #1 Akaki Kemertelidze (GEO) at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. #17 Akaki Kemertelidze (GEO) moves up six spots to #11 for beating #4 (now #12) Tulga Tumur Ochir (MGL) in the semifinals of the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. Ebrahim Elahi (IRI) is back in the rankings at #14 for beating #16 Kanan Heybatov (AZE) and #17 Abhimanyou Abhimanyou (IND) at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament.

Due to the ensuing movement caused by the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament along with past results from the 2026 Zagreb Open and 2025 Kadyrov Cup, #20 Caleb Henson (USA) and #9 Magomed-Emi Eltemirov (RUS) experience changes in the ranking spot due to their past results against #14 Ebrahim Elahi (IRI). Henson moves up seven spots to #13 for his win over Elahi at the Zagreb Open this year while Eltemirov moves down six spots to #15 for his loss to Elahi at the 2025 Kadyrov Cup.

#1 Ernazar Akmtaliev (KGZ) beat #6 Zain Retherford (USA) at RAF 11. Merab Dvalashvili (GEO) beat Henry Cejudo (USA) at RAF Georgia. Frankie Edgar (USA) beat Clay Guida (USA) at RAF 11.

74 KG

#1 Inalbek Sheriev (RUS) won Russian Nationals over #3 Zaurbek Sidakov (RUS) with Umar Umarov (RUS) and #14 Imam Ganishov (RUS) taking bronze. #14 Imam Ganishov (RUS) jumps up ten spots in the rankings to #4 for upsetting #2 (now #5) Anzor Zakuev (RUS) in the quarterfinals of the Russian Nationals; Ganishov lost in the semifinals to #1 Inalbek Sheriev (RUS). Umar Umarov (RUS) debuts in the 74 KG rankings at #15 for beating #16 Alan Kudzoev (RUS) for bronze at Russian nationals. #9 Timur Bizhoev (RUS) falls eight spots in the rankings to #17 for his quarterfinal loss to #16 Alan Kudzoev (RUS) at Russian Nationals. #15 Magomed Dibirgadzhiev (RUS) has been removed from the rankings due to a loss in the round of 32 to Alexander Baltuev (RUS).

2024 Olympic Champion Razambek Zhamalov (UZB) made his return to the 74 KG rankings at #3 with a title at the Yasar Dogu over Ali Karampour (IRI) with Gigi Subtarica (ROU) and Yasin Yesil (TUR) taking bronze. Zhamalov also notched a win over Jarrett Jacques (USA) at RAF Georgia. #17 Orozobek Toktomambetov (KGZ) has been removed form the rankings due to a loss in the round of 16 at the Yasar Dogu to Omar Mourad (EGY).

Feng Lu (CHN) won the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over 2024 70 KG Senior World champion #20 Nurkhoza Kaipanov (KAZ). Bronze medalists at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament were Murad Kuramagomedov (HUN) and Will Lewan (USA). Feng Lu (CHN) debuts in the rankings at #12 for beating #13 Murad Kuramagomedov (HUN) and #20 Nurkhoza Kaipanov (KAZ) at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. Murad Kuramagomedov (HUN) returns to the 74 KG rankings at #13 for beating #8 (now #14) Taimuraz Salkazanov (SVK) in the qualification round of the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. #18 Turan Bayramov (AZE) has been removed from the rankings due to an unranked loss to Magomedrasul Asluev (BRN) at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament.

#7 Ismail Khaniev (RUS) won Russian Nationals over #2 Akhmed Usmanov (RUS) with Said Saidulov (RUS) and #17 Gadzhimurad Alikhmaev (RUS) taking bronze. #7 Ismail Khaniev (RUS) moves up five spots to #2 for beating #2 (now #3) Akhmed Usmanov (RUS) in the finals of Russian Nationals. Said Saidulov (RUS) debuts in the rankings at #18 for beating #19 Kasum Kasumov (RUS) and U23 Russian Nationals runner-up Abdurakhman Abdusalamov (RUS) .

#13 (74) Murad Kuramagomedov (HUN) won the Yasar Dogu over #7 Mahdi Yousefi (IRI) with Okan Tahtaci (TUR) and Dias Sagdatov (KAZ) taking bronze. Michael Caliendo (USA) beat Mirzo Khayitov (UZB) at RAF 11. Keegan O’Toole (USA) beat Christopher Minto (USA) at RAF 11 and retired afterwards. #8 Suldkhuu Olonbayar (MGL) won the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over Dzhabrail Gadzhiev (AZE) with Luka Chkitunidze (GEO) and Aykan Seid (BUL) taking bronze.

#1 Ibragim Kadiev (RUS) won Russian Nationals over #9 Artur Naifonov (RUS) with #11 Arsen Balayan (RUS) and Ruslan Chertkoev (RUS) taking bronze. Ruslan Chertkoev (RUS) takes the #12 spot in the rankings for beating #8 (92) Arslan Bagaev (RUS) for bronze at Russian Nationals. #8 (92) Arslan Bagaev (RUS) returns to the 86 KG rankings at #13 after taking fifth at Russian Nationals with losses to #1 Ibragim Kadiev (RUS) and #12 Ruslan Chertkoev (RUS) respectively.

#6 Vladimeri Gamkrelidze (GEO) won the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament by injury default over #16 Rakhim Magamadov (FRA). Bronze medalists at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament were Tornike Samkharadze (GEO) and Alperen Atar (TUR). Tornike Samkharadze (GEO) is in the rankings at #19 after upsetting #15 (now #20) Ali Savadkouhi (IRI) in the round of 16; Samkharadze was defeated in the semifinals by #6 Vladimeri Gamkrelidze (GEO).

#20 Malik Shavaev (KGZ) moves up six spots in the rankings to #14 after upsetting 2025 U23 World silver medalist Eugeniu Mihalcean (MDA) at the Yasar Dogu. Mihalcean took fifth after losses to Shavaev and Ismail Kucuksolak (TUR). Shavaev took second after injury defaulting in the finals to Reza Afshar (IRI). Bronze medalists at the Yasar Dogu were Ismail Kucuksolak (TUR) and Ahmat Yagan (TUR).

#4 Kyle Dake (USA) beat #6 Vladimeri Gamkrelidze (GEO) at RAF Georgia. #2 Magomed Ramazanov (BUL) beat Aeoden Sinclair (USA) at RAF 11.

92 KG

#4 Ali Tcokaev (AZE) won the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament by injury default over Mukhammed Aliiev (UKR) with Anton Vyhivskyi (SVK) and Dustin Plott (USA) taking bronze. Magomed Sharipov (BRN) upset European Championships runner-up #5 Akhmed Bataev (BUL) in the qualification round and failed to place after losses to #4 Ali Tcokaev (AZE) and Dustin Plott (USA); Bataev falls eleven spots to #16 for his loss to Sharipov, Sharipov debuts in the rankings at #15 and Plott takes the #10 spot in the rankings for his wins at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over #11 Fatih Altunbas (TUR) and #15 Magomed Sharipov (BRN).

Mukhammed Aliiev (UKR) debuts in the 92 KG rankings at #12 for making the finals of the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament where he beat #9 (now #14) Miriani Maisuradze (GEO) and #13 Anton Vyhivskyi (SVK) to make the finals. Anton Vyshivskyi (SVK) debuts in the rankings at #13 for pinning #14 Miriani Maisuradze (GEO) at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament.

Fatih Altunbas (TUR) debuts in the 92 KG rankings at #11 for beating Budapest Ranking Series Tournament runner-up #12 Mukhammed Aliiev (UKR) in the finals of the Yasar Dogu. Bronze medalists at the Yasar Dogu were Suleyman Karadeniz (TUR) and Adrian Grosul (ROU). Zac Braunagal (USA) beat Pat Downey (USA) at RAF 11.

#5 Amanulla Gadzhimagomedov (RUS) won his second Russian Nationals title over Azamat Khadzaragov (RUS) with Vladislav Valiev (RUS) and Arsen Bulatov (RUS) taking bronze; two-time Russian Nationals champion Vladislav Valiev (RUS) is ineligible to be ranked due to him announcing his retirement after winning his bronze medal match over #17 Dmitri Zainidinov (RUS).

Arsen Bulatov (RUS) had an extremely strong run to the semifinals Russian Nationals, upsetting three past Russian National medalists Arsenali Musalaliev (RUS), #7 Ashkab Saadulaev (RUS), and Slavik Naniev (RUS) before being stopped in the semis by Azamat Khadzaragov (RUS). For his wins, Bulatov debuts in the rankings at #7 while Khadzaragov takes the #6 spot for beating Bulatov in the semifinals of Russian Nationals.

Dmitri Zainidinov (RUS) takes the #17 spot in the rankings after upsetting #12 (now #18) Bozigit Islamgereev (RUS) in the round of 16 and #14 (now #20) in repechage at Russian Nationals.

97 KG

#1 Trent Hidlay (USA) tech falled #10 Magomedkhan Magomedov (AZE) at RAF 11. #4 Kyle Snyder (USA) defeated #1 Abdulrashid Sadulaev (RUS) by pin at RAF Georgia; I will not be counting this result due to Sadulaev getting hurt during it in what should have been called an injury default loss. Anthony Cassioppi (USA) beat Mostafa Elders (EGY) at RAF 11.

#14 Magomed Kurbanov (RUS) won the Russian National Championships over #2 Mukhamed-Takhir Khaniev (RUS) with #8 Alikhan Zhabrailov (RUS) and #20 Magomedgadzhi Magomedov (RUS) taking bronze. #14 Magomed Kurbanov (RUS) jumps up twelve spots in the rankings to #2 for beating #2 Mukhamed-Takhir Khaniev (RUS) and #8 Alikhan Zhabrailov (RUS) at Russian Nationals.

#20 Magomedgadzhi Magomedov (RUS) moves up three spots to #17 after avenging his loss from the U23 Russian National finals to #18 Mustafagadzhi Malachdibirov (RUS) for bronze. Azamat Zakuev (RUS) is in the rankings at #19 for beating #18 (now #20) in the round of 32 before losing in the round of 16 to #18 Mustafagadzhi Malachdibirov (RUS). #15 Alikhan Ktsoev (RUS) failed to place at Russian Nationals after a quarterfinal loss to #9 Alikhan Zhabrailov (RUS).

#12 Akhmed Tazhudinov (BRN) won the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament over #13 Batyrbek Tsakulov (SVK) with Zbigniew Baranowski (POL) and Vasyl Sova (UKR) taking bronze. Alperen Tokgoz (TUR) won the Yasar Dogu over Resul Gune (TUR) with Ibragim Ciftci (TUR) and Ion Demian (MDA) taking bronze.

125 KG

20224 Olympic Champion Geno Petriashvili (GEO) beat 2012 97 KG Olympic Champion Jake Varner (USA) by tech fall at RAF Georgia. #17 Mohsen Siyar (GER) won the Yasar Dogu over Khetag Karsanov (AZE) with Mohammad Latifi (IRI) and Dogan Uzun (TUR) taking bronze. #4 Abdulla Kurbanov (RUS) won his fourth Russian Nationals title over Alan Khugaev (RUS) with Georgy Byazrov (RUS) and Pavel Krivtsov (RUS) taking bronze.

Yedige Kassimbek (KAZ) made his return to the rankings in a major way, upsetting 2025 Senior World bronze medalist #3 Shamil Sharipov (BRN) in the quarterfinals of the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament on his way to gold. Kassimbek returns to the rankings at #3 based off his wins over #4 Shamil Sharipov (BRN) and #10 Kamil Kosciolek (POL) in the quarterfinals and finals respectively. Bronze medalists at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament were Buheerdun Buheerdun (CHN) and Rajat Rahul (IND).

Kamil Kosciolek (POL) makes his debut in the top ten of the rankings after upsetting #7 Mason Parris (USA) by 13-0 tech fall in the semifinals of the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. Other ranked results that occurred were #4 Shamil Sharipov (BRN) beating #9 Dinesh Dinesh (IND) in the round of 16, #7 Mason Parris (USA) beating #17 Hakan Buyukcingil (TUR) in the quarterfinals and #8 Giorgi Meshvildishvili (AZE) beating #11 Robert Baran (POL) in the qualification round.

Pound for Pound

#12 Inalbek Sheriev (RUS) won the 74 kilogram Russian Nationals title over 4x World/Olympic #14 Zaurbek Sidakov (RUS) to come out on top of the rotating door that has been Russia at 74 kilograms. Sheriev, along with 2024 Olympic bronze medalist Chermen Valiev (ALB), is the only man to have two or more wins over Sidakov since 2018, with Sheriev beating Sidakov this year at the Ali Aliyev and Russian National Championships while Valiev beat Sidakov at the 2025 Senior European Championships and 2025 Senior World Championships. For Sheriev’s efforts, he climbs up six spots in the rankings to #6 while Sidakov takes the #7 spot in the rankings.

2025 74 kilogram Russian Nationals Champion Imam Ganishov (RUS) returns to the pound for pound rankings at #19 after upsetting #13 (now #20) Anzor Zakuev (RUS) in the quarterfinals of Russian Nationals before falling in the semifinals to #6 Inalbek Sheriev (RUS); Ganishov rebounded for bronze by beating Gadzhimurad Gadzhiev (RUS).

#6 Mukhamed-Takhir Khaniev (RUS) and #7 Kyle Snyder (USA) both fall nine spots to #15 and #16 respectively due to Takhir Khaniev’s loss to Magomed Kurbanov (RUS) in the 97 kilogram Russian National finals. Magomed Kurbanov (RUS) is back in the pound for pound rankings at #14 for beating #15 Mukhamed-Takhir Khaniev (RUS) in the 97 KG Russian National finals. I am not counting #16 Kyle Snyder’s “win” over #1 Abdulrashid Sadulaev from RAF Georgia due to Sadulaev being hurt.

Ismail Khaniev (RUS) debuts in the pound for pound rankings at #21 after beating #17 (now #22) Akhmed Usmanov (RUS) in the 79 kilogram Russian National finals. 2023 61 KG Senior World runner-up Abasgadzhi Magomedov (RUS) is back in the pound for pound rankings at #24 after winning the 65 KG Russian Nationals title. Aznaur Tavaev (RUS) takes the final spot in the rankings after taking silver at the 70 KG Russian National Championships with wins over two-time Yarygin and European Champion #5 (70) David Baev (RUS) and 2025 70 KG Russian Nationals silver medalist #4 (70) Konstantine Kaprynov (RUS).

Athletes Removed from Rankings

This section is dedicated to the high ranked athletes removed from the rankings and the rationale for why they were removed. To make sure that the content of the weights is most focused on significant events that occurred in the month and not on the minutiae of rankings removals, I’ve added this section to further explain my reasoning for high profile departures or removals.

57:

#17 Ramiz Gamzatov (RUS) has been removed from the rankings due to moving up to 61 kilograms for Russian Nationals, where he took silver to #1 Zavur Uguev (RUS). Ramzatov is currently ranked third at 61 kilograms after ranked wins over #8 Chermen Tavitov (RUS) and #9 Muslim Mekhtikhanov (RUS).

61 KG:

2023 Senior World bronze medalist #9 Taiyrbek Zhumashbek Uulu (KGZ) was removed from the rankings due to moving up to 65 kilograms and losing to Ruslan Abdullaev (AZE) in the semifinals of the Yasar Dogu.

The 2022 57 KG Senior World champion #10 Zelimkhan Abakarov (ALB) has been removed from the rankings after an unranked loss to #20 Giorgi Goniashvili (GEO) at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament. Due to Goniashvili subsequently losing to #18 Tolga Ozbek (TUR) in the quarterfinals and #19 Adilet Almukhamedov (KAZ), this caused Abakarov to fall further and eventually out of the rankings. The high turnover at 61 kilograms has also seen Abakarov’s best wins this year, Leonid Colesnic (MDA) and 2025 Senior World bronze medalist Nuraddin Novruzov (AZE), fall out of the rankings, leaving him more susceptible to precipitous drops in the rankings due to unranked or lower ranked losses.

65 KG:

No significant removals from the rankings.

70 KG:

2026 Ali Aliyev runner-up #14 Abdurakhman Dalgatov (RUS) was removed from the rankings due to a loss to unranked Turpal Ali Khatuev in the qualification round of Russian Nationals. Dalgatov’s removal from the rankings had additional contributions due to ranking movement caused by the results of the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament coupled with the addition of newly ranked #3 Aznaur Tavaev (RUS), #4 Konstantine Kaprynov (RUS), #14 Ebrahim Elahi (IRI), and #20 Turpal Ali Khatuev (RUS) leaving no space in the rankings for Dalgatov.

74 KG:

No significant removals from the rankings

79 KG:

#5 Razambek Zhamalov (UZB) moved down to 74 KG where he won gold at the Yasar Dogu. He is currently ranked third at 74 kilograms.
