#1 Vito Arujau won Final X in two matches against #2 Nahshon Garrett. #3 Daton Fix beat #4 Austin DeSanto 9-0 to win true third at Final X. Arujau has now made a world team at every age group in the United States (silver at the 2016 58 KG Cadet World Championships, silver at the 2019 57 KG Junior World championships, 10th at the 2022 57 KG U23 World Championships).

#2 Nick Lee beat returning world silver medalist #1 Yianni Diakomihalis in two matches to win Final X. Overall, Lee holds a 3-0 record against Diakomihalis at the Senior level with his matches at Final X along with a victory over Diakomihalis in the third place match of the 2021 Olympic trials. #3 Joey McKenna won true third at Final X by way of a 10-0 tech fall over #4 Matthew Kolodzik. Real Woods took silver at the Sassari City Tournament to Ayub Musaev of Belgium.

#1 Zain Retherford beat #2 Tyler Berger in two matches to win Final X. #3 Sammy Sasso tech falled #4 Alec Pantaleo 10-0 to take true third at Final X. Retherford will be looking to improve upon his world silver from last year after making his fourth world team.

#1 Kyle Dake won Final X in two matches against #2 Jason Nolf. #4 Keegan O’Toole won his true third match over #3 Vincenzo Joseph by forfeit. Dake will be looking to earn his fifth world title in Belgrade and sixth overall World/Olympic medal. So far, Dake boasts two world titles at 79 kilograms in 2018 and 2019, an Olympic bronze medal in 2021, and world titles at 74 kilograms in 2021 and 2022. Patrick Kennedy won the Sassari City Tournament over Anthony Montero of Venezuela.

#2 Chance Marsteller pulled the biggest upset of Final X when he took out returning two-time world champion #1 Jordan Burroughs in a three match series to make his first world team. Taking true third at Final X was #3 Alex Dieringer in a 2-2 match against #5 David McFadden. Marsteller’s victory over Burroughs puts him into the #1 spot at 79 kilograms and #5 in the pound for pound rankings. Marsteller’s victory over Burroughs is only the second time Burroughs has lost a match series at a World/Olympic trials event, with his first lost match series being at the 2021 Olympic Trials to #1 (74) Kyle Dake. Marsteller adds his name to an elite company of Americans who have beaten Jordan Burroughs in the form of Kyle Dake, David Taylor, Nick Marable, and Isaiah Martinez.

#1 David Taylor won Final X in two matches against #2 Aaron Brooks. Taylor will be looking to win his fourth World/Olympic title this year in Belgrade. Abe Assad finished runner-up at the Sassari City Tournament to Alex Moore of Canada.

#1 Zahid Valencia won his Final X match series against #2 Michael Macchiavello two matches to none. Valencia’s victory marks his first time winning a match series at Final X after having finished runner-up twice (2018 at 79 KG to #1 (74) Kyle Dake, 2022 at 86 KG to #1 (86) David Taylor). In the true third match, #3 Kollin Moore beat #4 Nathan Jackson 11-8.

#1 Kyle Snyder won the world team spot at Final X by two forfeits over #2 J’den Cox. Snyder will be looking to win his fifth World/Olympic title this year in Belgrade.

#1 Gable Steveson beat #2 Mason Parris in two matches at Final X to lock up the world team spot. Steveson will look to add a Senior World title to the Olympic Gold he won in 2021.

#9 Chance Marsteller moves up four spots to #5 for beating #3 Jordan Burroughs in the finals of 79 KG Final X. Burroughs falls three spots to #6 for his loss to #5 Marsteller. #23 Nick Lee moves up sixteen spots to #7 for beating #7 Yianni Diakomihalis at 65 KG Final X. Diakomihalis drops down one spot for his loss to Lee. Zane Richards debuts in the rankings at #10 for beating #6 Thomas Gilman at 57 KG Final X. 2022 57 KG Senior World runner-up #6 Thomas Gilman drops down five spots to #11 for his loss to #10 Zane Richards at 57 KG Final X.
