Pound for Pound

2025 86 KG Senior World Champion #4 Zahid Valencia has been dropped nine spots in the rankings to #13. Valencia has taken losses in the past year to #12 (P4P) Parker Keckeisen, #6 (INT) Vladimeri Gamkrelidze (GEO), #15 (INT) Ashkab Khadzhiev (KAZ), #1 Kyle Dake against one great win over #1 (INT) Ibragim Kadiev (RUS). While Valencia’s ceiling is very high as evident by his spectacular showing at the 2025 Senior World Championships, his consistency issues have reared their ugly head time and time again this year and given his current performance this year, Valencia’s stock must be reevaluated and he be placed appropriately, which as it stands is in the middle of the pack of the top 25.
