2021 61 KG Senior World bronze medalist Toshihiro Hasegawa (JPN) returns to the rankings at #12 for winning the Meiji Cup where he upset Senior Asian Champion #6 Takara Suda (JPN) on his way to the finals. Bronze medalists at the Meiji Cup were Taichi Yamaguchi (JPN) and Meiryu Akamine (JPN). #6 Takara Suda (JPN) does not fall in the rankings for his loss to #12 Toshihiro Hasegawa (JPN) due to beating Hasegawa in their wrestle-off for the Japanese World Team spot. #19 Emrah Ormanoglu (TUR) won the Yasar Dogu over #20 Udit Udit (TUR) with Assylzhan Yessengeldi (KAZ) and Sardor Ruzimov (UZB) taking bronze.

2024 70 KG Senior World bronze medalist Abdulmazhid Kudiev (TJK) is back in the rankings at #10 for winning the Yasar Dogu over Islam Guseinov (BLR). Bronze medalists at the Yasar Dogu were Rohit Rohit (IND) and Cavit Acar (TUR). Kudiev’s spot in the top ten is earned off a past win over #2 Shamil Mamedov (RUS) at the 2022 Korkin along with wins in 2024 over #11 (70) Sina Khalili (IRI) and #19 (70) Tulga Tumur Ochir (MGL), and 2024 Senior European runner-up Akaki Kemertelidze (GEO)

Heydar Yavuz (TUR) won the Yasar Dogu by injury default over Naachyn Kuular (KAZ) with Umut Erdogan (TUR) and Vishal Kaliramana (IND) taking bronze. #9 Yoshinosuke Aoyagi (JPN) won his wrestle-off against Meiji Cup winner Shoya Miura (JPN) to secure his spot on the Japanese world team after taking bronze at the Meiji Cup due to a loss to 2024 70 KG Junior World Champion Ryoya Yamashita (JPN). Ryoya Yamashita (JPN) debuts in the rankings at #17 for beating #9 Yoshinosuke Aoyagi (JPN) at the Meiji Cup and Shoya Miura (JPN) takes the #16 spot for beating #17 Ryoya Yamashita (JPN) in the finals of the Meijci Cup.
2024 70 KG Junior World bronze medalist PJ Duke (USA) won Final X over 2022 65 KG Senior World runner-up Yianni Diakomihalis (USA) with Ian Parker (USA) taking true third.

#5 David Carr (USA) won Final X in a two match series over #4 Mitchell Mesenbrink (USA) to win the U.S. World Team spot. Jarrett Jacques (USA) won true third over Joey Blaze (USA). Carr moves up one spot to #4 for his win over Mesenbrink while Mesenbrink falls one spot to #5.
Kota Takahashi (JPN) won the Meiji Cup over Masaki Sato (JPN) with Kanata Yamaguchi (JPN) and Toki Ogawa (JPN) taking bronze. Takahashi then went on to win his world team wrestle-off against Hikaru Takata (JPN) to secure his spot on the Japanese world team. #13 Nurkhoza Kaipanov (KAZ) won the Yasar Dogu over Ramazan Ramazanov (BUL) with Seyfulla Itaev (FRA) and Jafar Chuliboyev (UZB) taking bronze.
#20 Imam Ganishov (RUS) won the Russian National Championships over #18 Magomed Dibirgadzhiev (RUS) with Alan Kudzoev (RUS) and #10 Inalbek Sheriev (RUS) taking bronze. Russian Nationals completely changed the landscape of the rankings due to multiple upsets so it is best to start with the highest one and work down to see how it all connects.
It all starts with 2023 70 KG Russian Nationals champion #17 (70) Evgheni Zherbaev (RUS) upsetting 2021 Senior World bronze medalist #8 Timur Bizhoev (RUS) in the round of 32. Zherbaev makes the quarterfinals where he loses 4-1 to unranked Tumen Bodiev (RUS). The other upsets on the top side of the bracket are 2021 70 KG U23 Russian Nationals champion Rezuan Kazharov (RUS) upsetting 2024 Khadartsev Brothers Memorial champion #7 Aznaur Tavaev (RUS) in the round of 16 and then losing in the quarters to #18 Magomed Dibirgadzhiev (RUS). In the consolation bracket of the top bracket, Alan Kudzoev (RUS), who lost to #18 Magomed Dibirgadzhiev (RUS) in the round of 16 4-4, beats Rezuan Kazharov (RUS) in the second round of repechage and beats Tumen Bodiev (RUS) for bronze in the Dibirgadzhiev bracket.
Out of the Dibirgadzhiev bracket, #18 Magomed Dibirgadzhiev (RUS) jumps up ten spots to #8 for beating #9 Kudzoev, #10 Kazharov, and #12 Bodiev. Alan Kudzoev (RUS) takes the #9 spot for taking bronze and beating #10 Rezuan Kazharov (RUS) and #12 Tumen Bodiev (RUS). Rezuan Kazharov (RUS) takes the #10 spot for upsetting #7 (now #11) Aznaur Tavaev (RUS) in the round of 16. Tumen Bodiev (RUS) takes the #12 spot for upsetting 2023 70 KG Russian Nationals champion Evgheni Zherbaev (RUS) in the quarters. Evgheni Zherbaev (RUS) takes the #13 spot for upsetting 2021 74 KG Senior World bronze medalist #8 (now #14) Timur Bizhoev (RUS).
Russian Nationals champion #20 Imam Ganishov (RUS) also pulled off a fair share of upsets on his gold that reconfigured the landscape of the 74 KG rankings and must be addressed. For beating #8 Magomed Dibirgadzhiev (RUS) in the finals, Ganishov moves up thirteen spots to #7. Ganishov also notched an upset over 2024 70 KG Senior World bronze medalist #10 (now #16) Inalbek Sheriev (RUS) in the quarterfinals.
The other most relevant wrestler from Ganishov’s bracket in regards to upsets is Alexander Baltuev (RUS), who pulled upsets over 2024 70 KG Junior World silver medalist Magomed Baitukaev (RUS) and 2024 74 KG Russian Nationals champion #17 Anzor Zakuev (RUS) but would take fifth after a semis loss to #7 Ganishov and losing for bronze against #10 Inalbek Sheriev (RUS). From the results of the Ganishov bracket, #10 Sheriev drops six spots to #16 (in concurrence with the results of the Dibirgadzhiev bracket, i.e. Sheriev’s multiple losses to #13 Evgheni Zherbaev and a loss to #14 Timur Bizhoev at this year’s Yarygin) along with the debut of Alexander Baltuev (RUS) at #20 which caused #17 Anzor Zakuev (RUS) to drop out of the rankings due to Baltuev beating him.

#1 Akhmed Usmanov (RUS) won Russian Nationals over Mokhamad Nasirkhaev (RUS) with Nikita Suchkov (RUS) and Magomedmurd Yakhiev (RUS) taking bronze. Mokhamad Nasirkhaev (RUS) takes the #4 spot in the rankings for beating #8 Kamil Abdulvagabov (RUS) in the semifinals of Russian Nationals after Abdulvagabov had upset returning Russian Nationals runner-up #4 Gadzhimurad Alikhamev (RUS) in the round of 32; from this Abdulvagabov moves up three spots to #5 while Alikhmaev drops two spots to #6. Former #5 Abdulkerim Abdulaev (RUS) moved up to 86 KG where he failed to place at Russian Nationals.
On the Usmanov bracket of Russian Nationals, multiple upsets reshaped the top twenty, with the most notable being David Betanov (RUS) upsetting two-time Russian Nationals bronze medalist #9 Akhmed Manilov (RUS) in a rematch of their 2024 Russian Nationals bronze medal match and was defeated by #1 Akhmed Usmanov (RUS) and Nikita Suchkov (RUS) in the semis and bronze medal match respectively. From these results, Betanov takes the #10 spot for beating #9 Akhmed Manilov, who falls two spots to #11, and Nikita Suchkov (RUS) who takes the #9 spot for beating #10 David Betanov for bronze.
Levi Haines (USA) won Final X in two matches over Evan Wick. Keyvan Gharehdaghi (JPN) won the Meiji Cup over Subaru Takahaya (JPN) with Kohei Natamura (JPN) and Natsura Okazawa (JPN) taking bronze. Ryunosuke Kamiya (JPN) won the wrestle-off for the Japanese World Team against Keyvan Gharehdaghi (JPN).
#20 Magomet Evloev (TJK) won the Yasar Dogu over Ramazan Sari (TUR) with Ibrahim Yaprak (TUR) and Dzhabrail Gadzhiev (AZE) taking bronze. Ibrahim Yaprak (TUR) debuts in the rankings at #16 for beating #12 (now #17) Senior European runner-up Zelimkhan Khadjiev (FRA) in the qualification round; #20 Magomet Evloev (TJK) moves up five spots to #15 for beating #16 Ibrahim Yaprak (TUR) in the semifinals of the Yasar Dogu.

Ali Tcokaev (AZE) came out of nowhere to win the Yasar Dogu over two-time 86 KG Senior World bronze medalist #8 (92) Azamat Dauletbekov (KAZ) to make his rankings debut at #5 after Dauletbekov had upset Senior European runner-up #4 Magomedkhabib Kadimagomedov (BLR) in the semifinals. Kadimagomedov, along with Alperen Atar (TUR) would go on to win bronze at the Yasar Dogu. Dauletbekov takes the #6 spot upon his return with Kadimagomedov falling three spots to #7 for his loss to #6 Azamat Dauletbekov (KAZ).
#7 Ibragim Kadiev (RUS) won the Russian National Championships over 2021 Olympic and World bronze medalist #5 Artur Naifonov (RUS) with #16 Arslan Bagaev (RUS) and #17 Amanulla Rasulov (RUS) taking bronze. #7 Ibragim Kadiev (RUS) moves up three spots to #4 for winning Russian Nationals over #5 Artur Naifonov, with Naifonov falling four spots to #8 (due to his loss to #4 Kadiev at Russian Nationals and to #7 Kadimagomedov from the European Championships).
#3 Zahid Valencia (USA) won Final X in a two match series over #9 Kyle Dake (USA) with #10 Carter Starocci (USA) winning true third over Parker Keckeisen (USA). #12 Hayato Ishiguro (JPN) won the Meiji Cup with a 4-0 record against Yudai Takahashi (JPN) and Tatsuya Shirai (JPN) and won his wrestle-off for the Japanese world team against Shirai by 10-0 tech fall.

Amanulla Gadzhimagomedov (RUS) won the Russian National Championships over Slavik Naniev (RUS) with Yusup-Khadzhi Aidaev (RUS) and #14 Ashkab Saadulaev (RUS) taking bronze. Lots of changes in the rankings from Russian Nationals, so we’ll start off by going from the highest ranked upsets and working down and then tying everything together.
Slavik Naniev (RUS) upset Yarygin champion #6 Azamat Zakuev (RUS) in the quarterfinals and made the finals after a semifinal win over Nurgun Sergin (RUS), who had upset 2023 92 KG Russian Nationals champion #20 (86) Vladislav Valiev (RUS) and 2024 Russian Nationals bronze medalist #12 Mukhammed-Takhir Khaniev (RUS). Then in Naniev’s repechage bracket, Yusup-Khadzhi Aidaev (RUS) beats #6 Azamat Zakuev (RUS) in the second round of repechage and beats Nurgun Sergin (RUS) for bronze.
From the Naniev bracket of Russian Nationals, Slavik Naniev takes the #6 spot in the rankings for wins over #7 Yusup-Khadzhi Aidaev (RUS), #9 Azamat Zakuev (RUS), #15 Nurgun Sergin (RUS), and #18 Magomedsharif Biyakaev (RUS). Yusup-Khadzhi Aidaev (RUS) takes the #7 spot for taking bronze with wins over #6 (now #9) Azamat Zakuev (RUS) and #15 Nurgun Sergin (RUS). Nurgun Sergin (RUS) takes the #15 spot in the rankings for beating #12 (now #16) Mukhammed-Takhir Khaniev (RUS) and #20 (86, now #17) Vladislav Valiev (RUS) to make the semis.
Amanulla Gadzhimagomedov (RUS), a bronze medalist in 2020 at 79 KG and a silver medalist at 86 KG in 2023, completed his trio of medals with gold in his third weight class. Gadzhimagomedov takes the #5 spot in the rankings for beating #6 Slavik Naniev (RUS) in the finals of Russian Nationals along with notching wins over #7 Alan Bagaev (RUS) and #14 Ashkab Saadulaev (RUS) to make the finals. The most relevant results from the Gadzhimagomedov bracket were #14 Ashkab Saadulaev (RUS) avenging his loss from the 2024 Russian Nationals finals over #7 Alan Bagaev (RUS). This caused Saadulaev to move up four spots to #10 while dropping Bagaev four spots to #11.
Another interesting result of note was Akhmad Bagavudinov (RUS) upsetting 2024 Junior World champion Mustafagadzhi Malachdibirov (RUS), which would be followed by Bagavudinov being eliminated due to a loss Azamat Khadzaragov (RUS), who was pinned in the quarterfinals by #10 Ashkab Saadulaev (RUS).

#5 Kyle Snyder (USA) won Final X over #14 Hayden Zillmer (USA) in a two match series. #4 Arash Yoshida (JPN) won the Meiji Cup over Noah Leibowitz (JPN) with Ryusei Fujita (JPN) taking bronze. #15 Alisher Yergali (KAZ) and #20 Ibragim Ciftci (TUR) have been removed from the rankings due to moving up to heavyweight. #17 Rizabek Aitmukhan (KAZ) won the Yasar Dogu over #20 Akhmed Magamaev (BUL) with Aleksandr Hushtyn (BLR) and Rasul Gune (TUR) taking bronze.
#2 Abdulrashid Sadulaev (RUS) won Russian Nationals over #10 Magomed Kurbanov (RUS) and #20 Aslanbek Sotiev (RUS) and Soslan Dzhagaev (RUS) taking bronze.

Most of the changes in the heavyweight rankings came from the predictable crashout and subsequent underperformance of #7 Zelimkhan Khizriev (RUS), who lost in his round of 32 match to Alan Khugaev (RUS), which was followed by Khugaev losing in the quarterfinals to eventual bronze medalist Igor Ovsyannikov (RUS), and was followed by Ovsyannikov losing to Pavel Krivtsov (RUS) in the semis.
Out of all this, #7 Zelimkhan Khizriev (RUS) plummets to #16 in the rankings for losing to Alan Khugaev (RUS). with Khugaev taking the #15 spot for beating him. Igor Ovsyannikov (RUS) takes the #14 spot beating #15 Alan Khugaev (RUS) and Pavel Krivtsov (RUS) takes the #13 spot for beating #14 Igor Ovsyannikov (RUS). This is followed by the subsequent rise up in the rankings for #19 Abdulla Kurbanov (RUS0 due to beating #13 Pavel Krivtsov (RUS) in the finals and filling the #7 spot as the top Russian in the rankings once occupied by Khizriev, with bronze medalist Shamil Musaev (RUS) behind him at #8 as the #1 and #2 Russians in the world at heavyweight, Kurbanov beat Musaev 3-3 in the quarterfinals to go along with a win in the 2024 Russian Nationals finals.
#6 Wyatt Hendrickson (USA) won Final X in two matches over #11 Demetrius Thomas (USA). Taiki Yamamoto (JPN) won the Meiji Cup over Hibiki Ito (JPN) with Ryusei Fujita (JPN) taking bronze. Mohsen Siyar (GER) enters the rankings at #19 for winning the Yasar Dogu over #15 (97) Alisher Yergali (KAZ). Yergali returns to the heavyweight rankings at #20 after finishing runner-up to #19 Mohsen Siyar (GER) at the Yasar Dogu. Ibragim Kadiev (RUS) takes the #13 spot in the pound for pound rankings after winning his second 86 KG Russian Nationals title over 2020 Olympic bronze medalist Artur Naifonov (RUS). Remember that Kadiev won his 2024 86 KG Russian Nationals title by beating four past Russian Nationals champions in Arslan Bagaev (RUS), #16 Akhmed Usmanov (RUS), Vladislav Valiev (RUS), and Malik Shavaev (RUS).
Abdurakhman Dalgatov (RUS) debuts in the Pound for Pound rankings at #20 for taking bronze at 70 KG Russian Nationals, where he upset reigning European and Yarygin champion #11 David Baev (RUS) in the quarterfinals. Slotting ahead of Dalgatov is 70 KG Russian Nationals champion Sayin Kazyryk (RUS) at #19, who beat Dalgatov in the semifinals to make the finals of Russian Nationals, where he beat Yarygin runner-up #11 (70) Konstantin Kaprynov (RUS) for gold. #11 David Baev (RUS) falls ten spots to #21 for his loss to #20 Abdurakhman Dalgatov (RUS).
