#2 (65) Shamil Mamedov (RUS) moved up to 70 KG where he won the Sharapudin Abdulgalimov Memorial tournament over Bersan Galmakaev (RUS) with Zagir Alibekov (RUS) and Rustam Temirbulatov (RUS) taking bronze. #2 (65) Shamil Mamedov (RUS) takes the #3 spot behind Senior World Champion #2 Yoshinosuke Aoyagi (JPN) and #1 Taishi Narikuni (JPN).

After struggling throughout the year with unranked losses and failing to place at any tournaments, 2023 65 KG Senior World Champion Ismail Musukaev (HUN) notched two big upsets to make his way to the quarterfinals with a win in the round of 32 over 2024 65 KG Olympic bronze medalist #18 Islam Dudaev (ALB) and in the round of 16 over Senior Russian National Champion #1 Sayin Kazyryk (RUS) to set up a match against eventual champion #10 Yoshinosuke Aoyagi (JPN), who would tech Musukaev 10-0.
In repechage, Musukaev would lose by technical superiority 14-4 to #4 Ernazar Akmataliev (KGZ).
